Khames, a 5th generation jeweler was born the youngest of 11 children in Cairo, Egypt. He grew up in the jewelry shop with the jewelers bench as his playground. It quickly came to be known that he had a gift. Custom jewelry design is not only his profession, but his passion. Khames’ first stop in the US was in NY working in a jewelry factory. He came to Virginia Beach on vacation and fell in love with the friendly people and beautiful climate. He immediately began work with Long Jewelers, where he worked as their Master Goldsmith for 15 ½ years. He went on to open his own successful business working behind the scenes in custom design and repair work for Fink’s, Reeds, David Nygaard, Kane Marie and Facets in the Virginia Beach and Norfolk area. After 3 years he opened what is now known as Khames Jewelers in Great Neck Village. Khames Jewelers features a large selection of 18k Italian gold jewelry.
